The latest meeting of the Brisbane chapter of the ACFE was held at the offices of McGrathNicol on the 5th of April where we had an expert panel discussing many of the different aspects of financial fraud. We had approximately 30 persons attending which contributed to a great discussion and networking opportunities which continued well after the formal meeting concluded. The next meeting will be hosted by McCullough Robertson Lawyers at their offices at level 11 Central Plaza Two, 66 Eagle St Brisbane at 5:30PM on June 7. The presentation will be provided by Mr Guy Humble who is a partner of McCullough Robertson whose topic is “Queensland’s new class action regime- what does it mean for you?” We take this opportunity to thank both McGrathNicol and McCullough Robertson Lawyers for their support of the Brisbane Chapter of the ACFE. The next meeting will incorporate the Annual General Meeting of the chapter at approximately 6:30PM. This is traditionally a short event and all are welcome to attend. Should any person wish to stand as a member of the committee, please let me know and I will forward the necessary documents for your nomination. Dr Sally Ernst has indicated she wishes to step down from the role of secretary and take a place as a general committee member. I take this opportunity to thank Sally for her hard work in keeping the chapter afloat. Anyone keen to become secretary? The 28th Annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference is being held in Nashville between 18- 23 July. Further details can be located at the conference web site at http://www.fraudconference.com.
