Brisbane Chapter Meeting – 15 March 2018

As the new year has well and truly commenced, we have the first chapter meeting scheduled for the 15th of March at McGrath Nicol. The presentation will be on the introduction of the Privacy Amendment (Notifiable Breaches) Act 2017 and produce two recent case studies of cyber-attacks investigated by McGrathNicol. We thank McGrath Nicol for hosting this event and the presentation is very timely considering the legislation will have been in force for several weeks.

For those people interested in undertaking the Certified Fraud Examiner course, RSM in Melbourne host 4 day courses with two scheduled for Sydney and Melbourne over the coming months. The first is in Melbourne between the 6th and 9th of March and the second in Sydney between the 24th and 27th of July. The alternative is buying the course material directly from the ACFE and studying at your own pace.

The RSM details can be located at:

We have received a request from the ACFE in the US for chapter members to nominate to be on a regional database of experienced speakers. The purpose is where chapters are looking for speakers for training events, conferences etc., they can view the database and find experienced speakers covering a wide range of topics. If you are interested in being involved, please contact the chapter secretary and we will forward your details.

The ACFE international conference will be held in Las Vegas between the 17th and 22nd June and the Asia Pacific conference will this year be held in Sydney between the 23rd and 25th September.

We look forward to seeing you at our next chapter meeting.
