Newsletter – May 2018

After the successful meeting in March, we now turn our attention to the next chapter meeting on the 20th of June that is to be kindly hosted by Dave Morgan of PKF Forensics and Risk Services at Level 6, 10 Eagle St Brisbane. Details of the speaker and topic will be announced shortly. At the conclusion of the meeting, we will be holding the chapter AGM to form a new committee for the 2018/19 year.

For those who are interested in nominating for a position on the new committee, as a general indication, the workload of a general committee member is approximately 5 hours per year outside of participating in the regular phone meetings. If you wish to nominate for the committee, nomination forms will be available on the night as well as able to be emailed for your consideration.

Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) courses are again available through RSM for those wishing to gain new qualifications in the fraud investigation and examination fields. The next course is being held in Sydney between the 24th and 27th July and Canberra between the 9th and 12th of October. For further details, refer to the RSM web site.

The 29th annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference is being held in Las Vegas USA between the 17th and 22nd June. The ACFE Asia Pacific conference is being held in Sydney between the 23rd and 25th September. Chapter members who have attended these events in the past speak highly of them and they provide a great opportunity for networking.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank committee members for the efforts they have put into the chapter over the past 12 months. Also thanks goes to the sponsors who have supported the Brisbane chapter, who without their support the regular meetings we have would not be possible.

The next chapter meeting will be:

WHERE: PKF Forensics and Risk Services at Level 6, 10 Eagle St Brisbane

WHEN: Wednesday 20 June at 5:30PM

Yours sincerely

Dr Graeme Edwards (Chapter President)
